Protect your children
Children need to be protected in every stage of life as they are growing up. We always protect them, whether it is buying them a car seat, putting a helmet on their head when they ride a bike, & vaccinating them. A vaccination can save your child’s life.
What is a vaccination & why is it important?
A vaccination is when a doctor injects a patient with a strand of a dead or old virus that is not dangerous to the body. However, the body does not know this, so the white blood cells adapt and attack the virus. This causes the body to be immune from the virus & be prepared if it ever encounters the virus again. Vaccinations are not dangerous & they are very effective. Some side effects may occur such as:
- redness near injection
- itchiness
- slight fever
- a cough
However, these side effects are not that common & are non-life threating.
What are the benefits?
Vaccinations don’t only protect your child but also others around them, such as peers, students, friends. Vaccinations protect future generations. When you vaccinate your child & they do the same eventually the newer generation of your family will have children born immune to these diseases. A vaccination isn’t just for your child, it is also for everyone around your child as well. Not being exposed to these virus’s leaves them away from your child’s surroundings.
When should I vaccinate my child?
You should vaccinate your child when they are newborns first. A newborn is very vulnerable to all diseases. A vaccination takes away the prep time your body needs to adapt & fight a virus. If your newborn is infected it could 3-4 days for the body to develop antibodies; by this time the virus may have caused serious illness or death. After the vaccination as a newborn pay attention to the grade school vaccinations; most of the time they are required with a physical to enter school.
